  •  Tyson is awesome, (6+ / 0-)

Although my favorite "physicist rock star" is Professor Michio Kaku.

I'll gladly try watching Cosmos; it's a potentially extremely important show. However, if Fox actually has twisted it, it's important that it gets dropped quick, too, sad to say. Here's hoping that Fox let Tyson and company just do what they wanted rather than try to spin things.

    •  My preferences go more towards (0+ / 0-)

watching Tyson for science in general and Michio Kaku for anything involing large explosions or other destructive happenings. There's just something about the way he describes things that go boom....

      •  I like Michio Kaku, but frankly I find (0+ / 0-)

Tyson to be a bit clownish and goofy for my taste - like he's always talking to eleven-year-olds. But then Tyson's not the worst by a long shot - no one doing science "entertainment" is more excruciatingly obnoxious as that PBS buffoon David Pogue - I turn him off as soon as I see his mug on the screen - he can ruin any perfectly fascinating topic with his cringeworthy-embarrassing remarks and constant self-references...

        •  I think we need someone who can (0+ / 0-)

talk to 11 year olds.  This is America we're talking about.

Is in love with the camera, but not with science.

I have seen way too many clips where he jumps in with complete disinformation, or conflating things that are not connected at all.

I lost all respect for him long ago.

I am not religious, and did NOT say I enjoyed sects.
