          •  He IS? (0+ / 0-)

Funny, I heard PBO respond to a question with some polite comments about the man. Y'know, the way Presidents tend to react. I missed the news that the man had been nominated for anything.

NYC top cop Ray Kelly ‘flattered’ by Obama's praise, DHS talk

The Big Apple’s top cop has been seen as a favorite to replace outgoing Secretary Janet Napolitano, who announced earlier this month that she would step down from the post to become chief of the University of California system.

President Obama praised Kelly in an interview last week and said that he would “want to know” if he was interested in seeking the post.

“Mr. Kelly might be very happy where he is, but if he's not, I'd want to know about it because obviously, he'd be very well-qualified for the job,” Obama told Univision.

Since the job of DHS is to accuse everybody but white militia types of terrorism, Kelly, a 1930's throwback who doubtlessly misses Tommy Guns, would be awesome.

Of course the DHS should be scrapped, but this prez ain't gonna do it.

So the PBO has already decided to hire this man ... but he does not even know if the man wants the job? Riiiight. There's a clue in there somewhere.

If you were to ask PBO "What do you think of Donald Trump?" I bet you a frosty cold Coke that the answer would sound miles closer to "Mr Trump is an American of great accomplishment" than it would to "Donald Trump is too stupid to read a birth certificate but fortunately he is rich enough to hire people to tie his shoes for him."

But which one version do you think lies closer to PBO's true feelings?

Fact is, Presidents tend to be polite when asked about American citizens.

                •  believe as you wish (0+ / 0-)

but no be surprised when it happens...

                •  There's absolutely no justification (0+ / 0-)

for why Obama should say of Kelly, "he'd be very well-qualified for the job." That's a stupifyingly irresponsible form of politeness, given Kelly outrageous job performance.

The President doesn't live in a vacuum. He has to be well aware of the fact that Kelly's stop-and-frisk bullshit (close to 200,000 incidents of pure harassment each year) targets minorities at the rate of 85%. He has to be aware of Kelly's profiled targeting of the entire Muslim community for unconstitutional spying. He has to be aware of Kelly's callous dismissal of his troops' thuggery against the OWS protesters. Come to think of it, there's a clue in there somewhere...

Refusing to resist = choosing to collaborate. Please give two shits.

Perhaps. But I bet what he wouldn't say is, "Mr. Trump might be happy where he is, but if not, I'd want to know about it, because obviously he'd be well-qualified to replace Tim Geithner."

                  Unlike in the above quote.

will kick  the DFH's asses for him, any time he wants.  Don't tell me Obama doesn't know exactly the kind of people he's hiring and what they're likely to do.
