  •  Mr's burnt and I pick up discarded fishing line (8+ / 0-)

whenever we come across it, which sadly, is quite often. One of our favorite spots is a spring fed trout stream that gets a ton of fishermen/women. It is stocked daily and the hand reared fish are easily caught so it's usually shoulder to shoulder fishing for the first hour or so every morning, which results in lot's of tangled messes that can't be unraveled so the line is just cut off and replaced. The park service has placed special containers about every hundred yards along the stream, just for disposing of fishing line and yet we still often find a few small ends whenever we walk it. Some people either just don't care of just don't understand, I'm not sure which.  They never see the results which happen later during the night when everyone has left the water and is sitting around their campfires making smores. I think a picture such as what we took that day, covering the front of fishing license's would stop a lot of suffering.
