I heard ambitions that people would see the GA process, embrace the model, and we'd all move forward with some leaderless pure democracy. Nope, wasn't going to happen.

I heard ambitions that OWS would transform to an organized group with an agenda and a systematic strategy for enacting it. Diametrically opposed to the prior "ambition", and equally wasn't going to happen. How many other hot-button mobilization to action issues have we splintered off into since income inequality was A#1?

I heard ambitions that it was the wake up call Americans needed and more and more would take to the streets and demand social and economic justice. That ambition actually might be fulfilled, either under the OWS banner or using it as a forerunner - but in the time frame of at least large bushes, if not trees.

As a conversation starter it was brilliant. Exactly the right approach at just the right time.
