    but how are more rain in Connecticut and less rain in Texas BOTH due to global warming?

      Remember that it's global climate change, for one.

      Less rain in one part of the world, more in another. The total amount of water in the system hasn't changed, just where it goes.

      I have a vague but Master's-in-science level understanding, so I'm not really comfortable getting into details (you really do have to know some things really well in order to make them easily understandable :).

      If you ask in one of MB's climate change roundup diaries, I bet someone could point you towards a good explanation.
