It just seems to take forever. We all know that the future will doom them, but I've been waiting all 30 years of my politically active life for that to happen and I want a sea change while I'm still young enough to enjoy it.

Love your sig line. That Wanda Sykes is seriously funny.

The count we get in every election is what matters.

(I was a Census team leader in 2010. One of my responsibilities was to arrange for interviews in Spanish where necessary here in Columbus, Indiana, in the heart of the Midwest.)

The sleeping giant of the quite diverse Latino population is stirring. Latinos will be applying for citizenship, getting their papers together, registering, and voting in record numbers in each of a number of cycles to come until, like Blacks, they vote more intensely than Whites. Also running for office.

Cubans no longer dominate Latino politics in Florida, and it isn't just puertoriqueños coming in, either. The Blue border region in Texas is growing rapidly, and Battleground Texas has projected when Texas will become a swing state and then a solidly Blue state. They have more than 2,000 volunteers working on speeding that process up.

We might have to get our coalition to as much as 55% of the voting population in the most intensively gerrymandered states in order to overturn the gerrymanders. But at that point, it will be over for Republicans in those states, who will have no path back to power.

      Ceterem censeo, gerrymandra delenda est
