are you saying the police support the protesters?
    But not the Capitol police?

Gitmo is a Concentration Camp. Not a Detention Center. Torture happens at Concentration Camps. Torture happens at Gitmo. How much further will US values fall? Where is YOUR outrage at what the United States does in OUR names?

the local sheriff for Dane County, Dave Mahoney, explicitly said that his deputies would NOT "serve as the 'palace guard'" (his words) when he was asked if his folks would be "helping out" the State Capitol police control the mass protests.  The police chief, Noble Wray, for the City of Madison (in which the State Capitol building is located) also would not send his officers to the Capitol.  And  police officers from all over the state actually came and protested with all the rest of the citizens.  In addition, the Madison Fire Dept. has a strong union headed by one Joe Conway.  His folks were VERY evident in marching with the protesters.  The day a bunch of firefighters marched into the Capitol building in full regalia and sounding their bagpipes, the entire crowd ROARED.  Firefighters also came from all over this state.  These folks were ALL exempted by Walker from the hit he put on public employees----but they came anyway.  Walker was forced to pull in State Patrol troopers, state park rangers and game wardens to help out the Capitol police at that time.

As to the Capitol Police, they are under a new Chief who was recruited by Walker himself after the prior chief, Mr. Tubbs, was virtually forced out of his job.  Tubbs does policing the way the Dane County Sheriff and Madison Police Chief do---and it bears NO resemblance to what the Capitol police are now doing. As to how these Capitol Police officers feel about what they're doing-----I don't know and I would not speak for them.
