    hired by BART. It was not correct.

    For example, British Rail trains would have been regularly blown off various UK bridges over the years had a wider gauge really been necessary to combat high winds.

    BART planning has always been plagued by a mindset of 1) we're special, we're California; and 2) we therefore can't learn anything from anyone else. Yes, the cars are comfortable--but that's about it.
