    ...even if you ignore the internet data collection (and he only said that the program ended, not that another program began that does the exact same thing,) evidence has appeared showing that they -are- collecting phone metadata at the very least from millions of americans.

    Of course, your argument's weak anyway, because they could just shut down the collection system -- not even for a day, just while he's testifying -- and then he could deny that anything's being collected.  He gets off the stand, they start it right up again.

      that Clapper made two statements that contradicted each other; therefore, he had to be lying. The problem is, the two statements did not contradict each other, so no lie is proven by the two statements.

      Obviously, he could be lying about something else. Hell, maybe he cheats on his taxes, too. But that is not what the “gotcha” part of this diary was about.
