the snippet of DNA made inadvertently turned out to be left handed. A new opposite handed virus may also not have any biological checks at all in nature creating a plague of Attila's.

Mankind does not have the intellect to fully understand the ramifications of genetic modification at this time. The majority of this work is currently performed for economic gain.

by avoiding new possibilities.  Science creates solutions that give birth to new problems, and opportunities that create new dangers.  I'd say that's a better future than just rehashing the same old shit forever until a meteor shows up to end the game.

        The 1%?
Living things that die from lack of clean water?
Blue-collar workers making minimum wage guarding decaying nukes?
Where do i sign up for the job of enrolling other organisms to sit on the receiving end of Science's new problems? Cuz I'm sure they'll be very entertaining if only for a few minutes as something to check out if the video game console's batteries run down.

The same old shit forever was sustainable existence. Not really forever, though, it seems.
