  •  If he has no control over any public policy (7+ / 0-)

related to income equality, then why is he giving a speech about it?

He holds the most powerful office in the US, and he has no control over public policy?

    •  Sure The President Has Some Control (0+ / 0-)

Over public policy. My point is that all of the time spent on the 'rox vs sux' argument is wasted.

In my opinion this president has shown very little of what I would call an independent streak, he is doing little more than implementing a thirty year old neoliberal agenda.

Spending a bunch of time on arguing whether Barack Obama rox or sux is a waste and a distraction, in my opinion, 'cause none of it is going to change the policy.

agenda that whether or not it has any chance of getting passed, will at least push the Overton Window left and make the GOP look bad in blocking it, and not hiding behind this "It's my job to get things done even if it means not getting everything I want" bullshit.

with putting the country on a very conservative and reactionary path.

I laugh whenever someone tries to point out how weak the most powerful job in the history of the planet is. And shit only SEEMS to smell bad.
