    I really like seeing your work in progress and reading what you have learned. Makes me want to do crocheting again...maybe around fall. I don't try anything that isn't a rectangle and I'm really happy if even that happens.
    All the wonderful fresh fruit is making me drool. ...and that you will have it all year round. What syrup, or none, do you use? Do you change it up depending on the fruit?

      I hate the sweet, sweet variety of syrup.  For the peaches, I used 2/3rds good, real orange juice ( this case 2.5 cups), 1/3 nursery water (1 cup -- needs to be purified), a good squeeze of lemon and 2 tablespoons of honey. I add about 1/2 t of cinnamon and 1/2 t of vanilla.  Boil it for about 5 - 10 minutes before I pour it over the fruit.  Then process for 40 minutes in a canner in boiling water.

      Really tastes delicious in the winter when everything seems so drab.
