My medical issues require that I eat "high quality protein", which is defined by my dietician and all kidney and dialysis dieticians that I know of as being animal protein. There is too much of things like phosphorus and potassium in vegan solutions to our need for much more protein than the average "normal" human needs to eat, and those can build up easily in our systems and cause heart attacks, bones turning rubbery, and other fun things. ESRD requires a balance, and I'm following my dietician's rules for my diet: eat a certain amount of "high quality protein" each and every day is high on the list of requirements.

I'm not slandering your way of life, just saying it is not something everyone can do, whether or not they're willing to "make the sacrifice". "The sacrifice" in my case would be my life. Not going to go there, thanks.
