    The problem is the point that, for our adversarial system to be fair, there needs to be some expectation of equal representation before the law.  However, the prosecutors who do their work daily benefit from a level of experience and expertise that wealthy defendants can equally or more powerfully oppose, but the poor cannot.  
    Is it any wonder that the poor, underclasses, and minorities are over-represented in the prison population?
    The resources available for an ordinary person arrested and facing trial pale in comparison to those of the state arrayed against him.
