    Who gets blamed when the advice is bad?  The court system, that's who.

    In fact, Judges often give shitty advice, which is why they generally refrain from doing so.  I watched one judge tell a litigant to take his claim to the bankruptcy court, which turned out to cause the litigant to miss a deadline.  Of course, when the litigant pointed out that the judge told him to do it, the judge simply denied any such thing.
