    (TW = terawatts =1e12)

    174.0 PW – astro: total power received by Earth from the Sun

    (PW = petawatts =1e15)

    So 0.016 PW / 174 PW * 100 ~ 0.01%

    So I was way off on this one.

    But still, human kind does only use a small amount, about one part in 10,000 - or a penny's worth out of a $100 bill . . . .
