(180 proof)give-or-take a few percentage points Alcohol and that can be made even by crude homemade Stills unlike the processes that 200 Proof Alcohol need to be put through so that the engines designed to use only 100% Ethanol can run on,getting that last 10% of water out of Ethanol and keeping it out is a expensive, complicate and energy hogging process even compared to the energy hogging process of boiling the mash down to make 180 proof booze and that just isn't in the range of most people to do in the backwoods,at home and on the farm.

outlawing Hemp Prohibition did what it was designed to do crush the use of homemade Alcohol as a fuel source for vehicles and so the ban on Hemp served it's true purpose of stopping a very competitive source of products that the Fossil-Carbon Corporations didn't want but since Booze had more supporters than Pot Prohibition got kicked to the curb while Pot and Hemp has had to wait till it's number of supporter got big enough and politically powerful enough not to be arrested and ignored,an so with that plus this then Hemp was sunk.

Appalachian young men running moonshine and sacrificing part of the cargo rather than stop at gas stations along the way.

And of men swearing to their wives that the still is just to fill the tractor... just about the same way recipes calling for half bottles of wine or brandy somehow take the whole bottle once those same wives start cooking...
