has got to go.  so can we please quit pretending that employers not offering insurance is a bad thing?

fewer people obtaining coverage from work means that stupid paradigm ends all the sooner.  that is nothing but good.

From doing it to stop it... different benefits packages have always been used to lure and retain employees... that's hard "inertia" to put the brakes on.

I think in this context it's "bad" because it means a million employees will have about a year to "bounce around" (which is why half of them will go uninsured and half will cobble together something else).

would be eager to get out of the insurance business. It's a health model that makes no sense whatsoever. But apparently for Republicans the alternative of a single payer or government option is anathema. They would rather force private businesses to bear this burden than to see an efficient, affordable health care delivery system that covers virtually everyone.

we are increasingly losing the ability to compete in the global marketplace because companies in japan and europe, where they have single payer health care, aren't bearing that burden.

ironically enough, this situation exists because of the marshall plan.  too bad we hadn't invaded ourselves in WWII, hey.
