      it easier to just grab it all and store it. Then the NSA can attack it in parallel chunks to dig through for anything of interest to store in their working databases.

        encrypted in real time and the encryption hardware specifically designed to self destruct if tampered with.  Horsepower to encrypt all that data using encryption strong enough to prevent even the NSA themselves from breaking it even with a quantum computer would require insane amounts of horesepower.
