  •  He's par for Illinois (9+ / 0-)

We've had quite the run of bums lately.  Our requirements seem to be a body with a pulse.

I have to ask which Illinois polititions are "the run of bums lately" of whom you speak?  Blago is ancient history by now and other than his personal greed, seems nothiing like Cucinelli to me.  I agree that Illinois produces many greedy bastards seeking/holding  office, but Mr. Cuccinelli is nothing like the run of the mill pol on the take in the Prairie State, and in other particulars seems to be a couple orders of magnitude of awfulness beyond those I see around here.

It seems to be true of most politicians that they come to office seeking to do good, and in the end do very well . . . for themselves.  Cucinnelli is all of that, but much much more, and worse.

I was speaking of Governors, specifically Blago and Ryan who were both jailed.

I do agree that Blago was better than any Republican.  But by being greedy, he prevented himself from being a power for good and getting stuff done for the people.

Blago was really good at putting his name on interstate highway signs, but he didn't do much else of note.

Blago trial closely. However, from what I could glean, he made noises like he wanted to do some pay-to-play, but never followed through. So I thought 14 years was a bit steep. What don't I know?

and swept through his hair every ten minutes or so in front of the mirror held up by an ever-present security guy.  It was too much, even for the kindly judge.
