    a few hundred years ago, but, we have all agreed, so you can stay.

    Not you SF, but many, often overlook the superb underwater troops that the Italians fielded in Decima Mas...they had a fair amount of success against your boys in the Med. Mini subs were their forte' as well, I believe.

      ....counter, but the British took a lesson from this and went in TWO different directions.

      One was the very capable 'X' and 'XE' possibly the most capable of the 'reconnaisance' type of miniature submarine, and the other was the Royal Marines Boom Patrol Detachment - a small unit designed to use canoes to place limpet mines on ships.

      Sadly, the Germans executed those men they captured after the single, heroic, raid.
