  •  What you say is sensible but not IMO accurate (0+ / 0-)

While I'm sure you've arrived at the intended conclusion, I have NEVER noticed the US government in any form or capacity using plausible deniability as anything but a shield against the American people putting the pieces together for themselves.

"No, that was just SLOPPY of us!! We didn't mean THAT!  We just wanted it to REALLY LOOK LIKE we meant that when we did.  There was not intent to deceive".  My ASS.  Since Watergate at least, the single unquenchable hunger of those on the so-called "right" has been explicitly TO deceive.  It's how IranContra worked, for Pete's sake, it's how Fox, the Tea party, and pretty much any random selection of said 'right' works to this very day.

They don't get called on their bullshit anymore because they've figured out how to work the flappers, like in Gulliver's Travels.

Show me the whisky stains on the floor
Show me an old drunkard as he stumbles to the door
And I'll see a young man with so many reasons why...
...and there, but for FORTUNE, go you - or I... - thanks, Phil
