  •  The ability to turn off the beacons and trackers (10+ / 0-)

    is best handled by individual users and not at the site level. You can learn more about that in web browser's help functions. Most modern web browsers have the ability to turn off that tracking.  

    Yeah, some of those beacons, cookies, etc are for advertising, some are to improve site use, some are used for us to learn more about our audience.

    For example, we also like to know if a reader came to a page, but didn't take a specific action we wanted them to. We can use the data to improve user experience to get the desired outcome we seek.
