  •  i think we should do a CT meet up too (9+ / 0-)

don't you? I like that Turkish restaurant in Waterbury that's right off 84, next to nardelli's. should be easy for anyone in CT to get to. plus I can pick up anyone who wants to take metronorth into Waterbury, or the bus station downtown. there's even that Amtrak station in meriden. sometimes I pick my son up there.

what do you think? we can go somewhere else if you want, though.

tell me a day and time that works for you, and i'll see if Navajo can add it to new day.

    •  That's a great idea!!! (6+ / 0-)

Really too bad Phil isn't still here -- he really wanted a CT meetup.

I know of Nardelli's but had no clue that there was a Turkish Restaurant there as well.  Really easy off / on I-84 -- other than the fact that I hate that highway.

Sounds like a plan -- I have to check my personal calendar as well -- I'm in the office right now.  Will get back to you soon -- hopefully this afternoon.

      •  went there on a saturday afternoon (6+ / 0-)

the one right before mother's day, and we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. our waiter was fantastic. sometimes when you're the only table it doesn't quite work out. either they forget you're there, or they're on you all the time. this guy was perfect though.

we were going to grab a bite at nardellis, but my mom wanted to try falafel. my dad was scared to death to eat Turkish, but he ended up loving his meal. he had some kind of lamb. forgot what.

my dad is a very unadventurous eater. I was kind of shocked he agreed to eat there, and was even more shocked he liked his food. he ate the whole plate, and they give you very big plates.

if anyone is bringing kids, they do have some beige food. my girls ate chicken strips and fries.

I think they must be very, very busy Saturday at dinner time- they have a belly dancer then. I don't know if there are any other days and times we should avoid.
