    Here are some facts:
We spy on other countries. They spy on us. We all do it. Any data collected through clandestine means is classified to protect sources of information and hide the fact that we have the information. It's the intel game. Managing that data with humans involved becomes a challenge.

It's possible that other countries don't want to deal with the information management issues that the Snowden files present.

Classified documents leaked onto unsecured networks create a problem for folks that work with classified material. If you accidentally read the classified document in a news article on an unclassified network, the device (computer, blackberry...) is going to be wiped or destroyed. This costs money, over $1000 for each incident.

We don't want to waste time and money wiping computers because someone sent an email that should have been on another network, or someone clicked a link to an article describing or containing classified material. None of these other countries want to waste money on this either. Do you really think China was completely unaware of what the NSA does? Of course not. Now they have to tell their security people to not look at these articles/documents on unclassified devices or else their computers will be wiped.

The response of other countries to the snowden mess will be very informative to a security analyst. That's about the only thing that gets affected. Have you changed your communication habits in the last three months?
