  •  fish oil, not ketamine (0+ / 0-)

Modern farming methods cause an omega-3 fatty acid deficiency in our food.  This, combined with lack of sunlight exposure, is the cause of much of modern depression.

    •  I prefer hempseed oil over fish oil (0+ / 0-)

      Here's why.

Read more about hemp seed oil here.

As far as the drug thing...based on personal experience I would definitely agree.

I had a father who was on medication for 'nerves', and he was a madman. Librium was one of the drugs with lots of beer to wash them down. Who knows what else he was on.  I had to hold him down on the bed and threaten his life so he wouldn't beat my Mom anymore.

I have a wife who was on Lorazepam for several years after a mastectomy. No thanks, it almost caused a divorce. Now she smokes pot instead.

And a sibling who considered suicide while on medication for brain seizures.

I'm sure those drugs are necessary for some, but I sure haven't seen anything but the bad side of them.

and had the worst, scariest experience of my life. They didn't warn me that it was a hallucinogenic drug, and I had a bad trip on it.

Why replace one drug protocol with another?

      •  See my earlier comments on dosage... (0+ / 0-) the dosage for an operation, about 10% of people do have hallucinations. At the anti-depressant dosage, you are not even asleep and NO ONE HAS EXPERIENCED hallucinations. There are many trials of ketamine for depression, do some research.

    •  and you got your medical degree from...? (0+ / 0-)

Some people will simply get better from depression no matter what they do. For about 2/3 of people, not so much. To be clear, I and my children are amongst the 2/3, so your answer is not particularly satisfying. I've taken more omega 3 and ate more fish than you could stand smelling. For most people, it does not work.
