Like say on Election Day, even if only for an hour? For horrible socialist goals like a living wage, the right to unionize, bank re-regulation, an end to corporate 'personhood,' etc. No DC rally-on-the-mall, but local protests in front of the crooked banks, the Walmarts, greedy corporate hq's etc?

Election day is perfect - both a regular workday and a symbol of our democracy, the one that seems to not so slowly being taken away from us.

Just thinking out loud, that's all...

A nationwide general strike this election day? Why not?

Being against gun control makes it really, really, hard to believe you are a prolife family values kind of person..

What I'm really hoping is that this idea goes viral - that the pebble I've tossed down Mount Dailykos triggers an avalanche of local activism.

I'm not interested in being a 'leader' or God forbid trying to organize something on a national level myself. I'd like to see people all over the country passing this idea onto others and organizing protests and strikes in their own communities.

I think the huge mistake 'Occupy Wall Street' made was in creating a doomed, Woodstocky communal park a few blocks from Wall St. instead of taking it local all over the US.

Let's do it right this time.

A nationwide election day general strike? Why not?
