If this diarist is the revenant of a banned user, how is it that his new persona is accumulating mojo? I don't mean to say that I think he should be re-banned, but isn't that the customary procedure?

Of course, since he is being up-front about it, perhaps it's an atypical case; and he seems to be attempting to achieve greater self-knowldge and growth. But I remember the diary that Twigg responded to, and it was . . . well, the only word I can think of is intolerable.

    •  I am not here to gain the same (0+ / 0-)

bad reputation as the previous name I held an account under. I want to right my wrongs from last time, and I hope to learn from the best, and not from bad experience or poor knowledge.

I find it weird that I choose this community to be active on than other communities, there is just some sort of spark in this community that makes me want to stay. I don't want to gain the bad reputation I used to, all I want to do is try and convey my opinions in a manner that is unoffensive and within reason. I have yet to learn to proof-read my diaries and think first before publishing.

I am getting the hang of it now, but the thing about me is that I tend to lash out whenever I see some article that more often than not makes me feel angry. I go into "rage mode" which is obviously something I need to control, and I want to do so through the knowledge that people will accept me for who I am, and not refuse me just because of an unintentional offensive mistake.

There is no wrong in mistake as long as it is within law - at least I am willing enough to accept and face the truth from time to time and also take an approach that is not intended to threaten or abuse people. Yes, I did do this unintentionally in the past, but the reason I return is to apologise for my wrongs and I hope that people understand me as a willing member of this community aiming to achieve the same great things as everyone else.

      •  You are not going to continue with this community. (0+ / 0-)

Had you wished to, you might have tried to petition the administration here to be let in under your previous name. Since you returned in the way you did, you've broken the rules that apply on this site, and you will shortly be banned again.

If you find another site that interests you, I strongly suggest you read their rules, fully, before you begin interacting with their community.

At least half the future I've been expecting hasn't gotten here yet. Sigh.... (Yes, there's gender bias in my name; no, I wasn't thinking about it when I signed up. My apologies.)

. . . that trying to shed a "bad reputation" through superficial changes (such as your User Name) doesn't work. Your choices, good or bad, are what they are. I was once 20 years old, and I learned this the hard way: The path to growth does not include calling choices "unintentional mistakes" (although you wouldn't know it from listening to politicians). I'm not talking now about the opinions you expressed in your original appearance, but your refusal to accept the cautions and advice of the people who responded to you.

I really do sympathize with you. When I wrote my first diary, I deeply offended quite a few people. The fact that I was unaware of community standards was no excuse, because I had not bothered to get to know the community I wanted to join. I just wanted to tell everybody what I thought.

By creating a new user account after being banned you are choosing to ignore the standards of the community you want to join. Do you not recognize the contradiction? If you are not banned again, I hope you'll follow the advice that I was given: Don't write; read. Take the time to get to know the community and its people. Observe. Listen.

Whatever happens, please take to heart the support and encouragement that so many posters in this thread have given you. Each of our choices, good or bad, offers a chance for growth and change, if we are willing to accept it.

Best wishes in your work on dealing with depression and anger. That is a choice you'll never regret.

Either staff will check it out on Monday and make a decision, or someone else will report it directly through the contact link for a more expeditious processing. If they wish to make an exception, that's their business. I have not recommended it.

The simple answer is, I think, that nobody spotted it before this.

At least half the future I've been expecting hasn't gotten here yet. Sigh.... (Yes, there's gender bias in my name; no, I wasn't thinking about it when I signed up. My apologies.)
