But now that all power centers other than the Right's donors have been obliterated, it's getting harder (not impossible, particularly with the corporate media's connivance) to blame the ongoing problems of America on the unions/migrants/whatever.

I see that wingers are trying to respond to criticism of Walmart (that the family has enriched itself by keeping its employees on public assistance or at the public expense) by claiming the real reason behind the economic malaise is not rich bankers sitting on mountains of government cash or or is not a Fed keeping the prime at an artificially low level but instead remains to be immigrants.  This is in spite of a sour economy that has actually decreased illegal immigration.  Why trek across a desert and risk border vigilantes for a wretched job for less money than you could earn in your native country?

facts, it's about what the right believes.  If the ruling class can continue to persuade working class whites that white skin privilege is threatened, they'll turn out in support by the millions.  The left has been unsuccessful in persuading them that the class war is the real one.

What's amazing is the damage the Republicans can do despite their divisions. Of course, damage is the goal because it creates the climate of fear and loathing that keeps working class whites voting Republican out of fear.
