Greenwald hyped the totally bullshit story by the woman who claimed that the fed raided her house because the NSA was spying on her.  in case you're not current on that story -- it was total bullshit.

So one story was fake. Does that wash away everything else that has been brought to light (and continues to be revealed)?

Banking on the American people to be able to sort all this out and declare the adult in the room the winner is a very big bet. -Digby

NONE of these programs are new.  NONE of the capabilities are new.  There has been ZERO evidence of any actual wrongdoing.

All we have is old news dressed up with a lot of scary language, a lot of gross hyperbole and exaggeration, and a lot of confusion and conflation, with a lot of material facts and context omitted and ignored for good measure.

And yet based on that pile of total horseshit, people are running around like Chicken Little screaming that the government is eavesdropping on everyone, all the time, and using everything against all of us.

Like I said, it's total bullshit.  Old news dressed up in new bullshit sandwich.

    •  Um... no. It wasn't total bullshit. (2+ / 0-)

What we have is a "he said-she said" along the usual diversionary lines. I am not someone prone to automatically believe the self-serving excuses served up by authority, but then again, I'm not an authoritarian (or a masochist who loves authoritarians).

      You'll have this.
