  •  The Sierra Club is a convenor of the Blue Green (0+ / 0-)

Coalition.   As a result of that fact, and historical relationships between the Sierra Club and labor, your comment isn't particularly relevant to what is happening on the ground.

That does not mean that there aren't tensions.

But nothing about your comment is particularly helpful to the cause fo the Blue Green Alliance under present circumstances.

The Blue-Green alliance is in tatters now, and getting worse as decision day on Keystone approaches. My comments may not be helpful, but as I said before there is no point in ignoring the real problems and difficulties ahead.

And just so you don't get the wrong idea, I think the first step for repairing the relationship is for AFL-CIO BCTD is break off its "partnership" with the American Petroleum Institute.

        What is "BCTD"?

AFL-CIO Building & Construction Trades (BCTD) is a department within the AFL-CIO federation that contains some of the oldest unions in America. Some of the them are large and quite influential (IBEW, Laborers) and some are small and rarely heard from (Bricklayers, Cement Masons). But together they are are a large and influential bloc within the AFL-CIO.

A great step backward in blue-green relations was taken when BCTD entered a 'partnership' with American Petroleum Institute to promote fracking and other goals. That was in 2009, I believe.
