  •  Exactly! (9+ / 0-)

Like Steinbeck said, "There is only two kinds of money; none and not enough".

The only reason this bastard is in jail is because he took the government's and corporate money.

If it was just about providing unnecessary treatments that harmed patients, he would be sitting at home maybe worrying about losing his license.  Human lives are one thing but this guy screwed up and took money from incorporated persons.

"Perhaps the sentiments contained in the following pages, are not YET sufficiently fashionable to procure them general favour..."

    •  Yeah (3+ / 0-)

you can steal from all the flesh and blood people you like, but when you steal from a corporate person, that's when the hammer falls.

    •  Doctors are self regulating. The (0+ / 0-)

boards function more as doctor protection agencies than public protection agents.

Look at the fight in Calif about raising the cap on damages AND putting a public member on the Medical regulatory board.

The only other way is through malpractice suits. But the doctors have fought long and hard for caps which have all but eliminated malpractice suits.

I'm asking you to believe. Not in my ability to bring about real change in Washington ... *I'm asking you to believe in yours.* Barack Obama
