F__k Dr. Fata.  Some of those treatments are very high risk procedures, including increasing a patient's lifetime radiation load and disrupting all kinds of normal cell functions.

It's not like there aren't enough real cancer patients who desperately need expensive treatments they can't afford,  either.

I doubt he'll get 20 years, alas.  And I rarely say this, but I'd prefer it if he were to be diagnosed with cancer himself -- something definitively fatal too, like pancreas or bone cancer.  Let him experience the terror of a diagnosis.  Because the worst thing he did is not defrauding Medicare; it was telling people who didn't have deadly cancers that they did.  If you've ever lived through receiving a terminal diagnosis yourself or with a loved one, you know that is one of the most frightening and awful days of your life.

My partner hits 2 years' survival (after initial diagnosis with stage 4 and no hope of an actual cure) in one month.  Every day is a blessing.  Every day is a struggle.  My heart goes out to everyone else struggling with this horror.
