    of tapes from the Oval Office in the Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel. I guess it was 1974 and they ran them as a series.
    Just reading them conveyed the extreme paranoia that stalked the halls of the Nixon Administration. Reading them literally creeped me out.
    We all despised Nixon and his #sekrit plan to end the VN war that never ended. We partied when he flew out but the Ford pardon was a major downer.
    Nothing had been right since the JFK assassination anyway. The murders of RFK and MLK added to our disjointedness and mistrust. And after Nixon got away sort of cleanly, no one was ever again held accountable in a serious way for their crimes.
    But it all really piqued my interest in politics. I think I spent a week's vacation in the Keys watching the Iran-Contra "trial." What a farce. Then the Keating 5. Jayz! Decades of watching criminals get their wrists slapped.
