    I get rather annoyed when you see him making efforts to help other under-served parts of the world and does not continue to use his influence and money as much in the US.

    I am aware that he has done many many good things in education and the like, here at home. But, instead of ending there, and working abroad, I want to see him keep helping right here at home.

    He could be one of 'our' billionaires if he wanted to.

    And same with some of the hollywood elite.

    I think they COULD be helping here at home as our answer to the Koch brothers, but maybe Republican evil is easier to organize than the Democrat equivalent.

      but in education he is as much part of the problem as the solution, because the Gates Foundation only pushes Microsoft Windows, which is overpriced, insecure, and buggy, and denigrates Linux.

      I work with One Laptop Per Child and its affiliates on Free Software and Open Educational Resources, all under licenses that permit people in the countries concerned to make their own improvements to software and content, and republish the results under the same licenses.
