    is from being in a dim-sung restaurant with extended family (all white people) sometime around the age of 10. A younger cousin, a boy, snatched a bowl of chicken's feet off a cart as it passed our table. Now, this wouldn't have been a bad memory to anyone familiar with Chinese culture, where chicken's feet are called "dragon's feet," or close. They are, in fact, a delicacy; anything with such a high bone-to-meat ratio, must be dear, I imagine. But each of my family members looked in horror at the contents of the bowl, and shook their heads, passing it to the next person. I was no less horrified.
