    It did show the public's general lack of knowledge about NASA space probes though.  For there to be a Galileo V, there would have had to be a II, III, and IV.  That's not really how they roll.  They try to keep it fresh with new names for each mission.  You only get 1 & 2 probes if they fire them off close together.  Even if it's a copy, they give it a new name if it's a new mission.

      I don't know if it was the same for other students, but the launch of the space shuttle was like a huge event. We often watched it as an entire school. I recall being a Junior in high school and in a room with 900 fellow kids when the Challenger blew up. I don't have words. But we were taught that going to space was cool. Neat. Something we should do.
