  •  almost all blacks have left eh? proof please. (12+ / 0-)

that's a canard i've seen you repeat in this diary and i want to know the basis for it or you need to stop making it.

it's a slur against the site and i happen to know that quite a few black folks do post here, so i want to know where you are getting your stats from.

i've about had it with bs claims being made repeatedly and not being contested.

    •  Hehe, I wouldn't be surprised that you think that (0+ / 0-)

      it's a canard.

A lot went to BYD's site.

A lot went to the People's View.

      Others drifted off elsewhere.

And considering that Blacks make up about 25% of Democratic voters yet they play so small a role here nowadays, it's not a slur against the site, it's merely embarrassing for the site.  And sad for the site.

And tbh, I really don't care whether you've "had it" with claims that you view as b.s. or not.  I've been around here long enough to make informed observations, whether you like it or not.

but quite a few have left - going wayyyy back to Fabooj, and kid oakland ...but that won't stop some of us who are still here - and not leaving from expressing an opinion on this cartoon (which invokes racist imagery) from saying something about it.

The postures, facial expressions and inferences are all there - and no they don't apply the same way if it is about white caricatures - hence a white person eating watermelon or Bush as a chimp are not racist.

It has nothing to do with what Obama "said", it's about what this cartoonist drew.

He's done it before which is why I rarely look at his work.

POC here that do not see the cartoon the same way?

and there are quite a few black posters still here; many comment all over the place regularly. Lawrence said that almost all blacks had jumped ship. that's not true whatsoever. and many folks who did jump ship were many colors as well.

what Lawrence said is trying to denigrate the entire site. i don't like seeing that kind of slurring without some kind of backing, and it's clear there is not backing other than say so.

i for one am glad that i see plenty of POC that are still here at Dkos.

Whole lot different than getting run off wouldn't you say?

We all make choices in life it generally works out better when neither we or others blame our choices on others.

        What happened to Kid Oakland?

I wish we had more black voices here, but I also can understand why many got frustrated with not just seeing this kind of stuff on a progressive blog, but then also seeing so many people rush in to defend racial stereotyping.

Hopefully DailyKos will become a blog that better represents the wonderful diversity of the Democratic party more again.  I love hearing a diversity in voices and I'm thankful that there still are lots of Native American voices here.

Anyway, please don't go anywhere.  Your voice is important here.
