    •  True. Have you seen that doc The Revisionaries? (7+ / 0-)

It's on Netflix streaming right now, and there are some followup pieces here on the PBS site:

The thing is, for as much as I bark at it I really do miss Texas - especially the Texas I remember loving so long ago - and I'd be tempted to move back if I could get my shiz together.

Hell, if it weren't for family I'd probably have stayed down there.

Oh well, I still have my memories :)

Ok - I don't miss the dust storms.

      Cross-posted to absolutely nowhere.

        •  Whenever I'm asked that, my stock answer is (1+ / 0-)

"damn near anything except woodwinds" :)

More accurately, the answer is that professionally I played drums, percussion, trumpet, bass guitar, guitar, piano.

But since my focus at that point in my life was more on scoring/arranging than on performance/education, I could get by with just knowing the capabilities and range of, say, the bassoon - instead of having to honk out scales on the damn thing :)

If I could only play one thing and play it well it would be the trumpet... but I'm afraid those days (and those chops) are long gone.

I still break mine out on occasion though - can't let the neighbors off that easy :)

Think of it this way, tea-baggers: you were simply Stopped & Frisked by the IRS.

    •  Remember that we have the new meaner (5+ / 0-)

Republicans in Texas because of Tom Delay, his near criminal level re-districting, and the misuse of Homeland Security for his own political purposes.

There already is class warfare in America. Unfortunately, the rich are winning.
