  •  Just finishing The Coat Route, by Meg Lukens (14+ / 0-)

Noonan.  The subtitle is "Craft, Luxury & Obsession on the Trail of a $50,000 Coat."  It's a very good read, part investigative reporting, part travel tale, part history, part mystery, sparked by the question "who would buy a $50,000 coat, and what could such a coat possibly be made of?"  I've learned a lot about the real workers, factories and industries that go into supplying the crafting of garments for the super wealthy-- not just celebrities, but the hundreds of ueberbillionaires who are willing to pay anything to wear the finest and most exquisitely crafted garments in the world.

That's one more thing to add to my long list of small problems. --my son, age 10
