    And what's galling is the constant blaming of the workers. The tea partiers abuse the victims of low wages, contending they shouldn't be working low-wage jobs.
    Well, fine, where's the high-wage jobs for 5 million Americans?
    And if these low wage workers could, magically, move to high wage jobs today, who would perform the low-wage work? Somebody's gotta do it!

      have over what the franchisees pay their workers? The workers at your local McDonalds don't work for the McDonalds Corporation, but rather the local franchise owner. Isn't it that local owner/operator who decides the level of compensation for the workers based on local minimum wage laws and market conditions?

      I have never read a McDonalds franchise agreement but I would be surprised if the Corporation could require the franchisees to pay more than the legally required minimum wage.

      Do you know what legal leverage the Corporation actually has regarding the wages of employees of the franchisees?
