  •  Those horrid laws... (0+ / 0-)

... are also against simple biology.

We are hard-wired for our sexuality from birth.  Experimentation as a child or an adolescent to find out if/why/how we're the same or different notwithstanding, we are what we are from birth.

Straight people are born straight, gay & lesbian people are born gay or lesbian.  Bisexual people are born bisexual.  Trans people are born transsexual.  As I understand it, hermaphrodites are born with both sets of genitalia and if parents are smart they let their offspring choose whichever one they feel they are inclined to be and have surgery to remove the other by the time they're teens (I don't know anyone who is a hermaphrodite, so that sentence might be totally wrong; forgive me, please, since my ignorance and lack of personal experience is showing here).

No amount of laws or rules by any organization can externally define what we are inside, or force us to be what we are not.

As far as the Olympics are concerned, the only thing I could hope for is that no one from any country do something stupid to embarrass their country or the other Olympic athletes (doping, drunkenness, brawling, and things of that nature - all not defined by any individual's sexuality).

Unless ice skating (ice dancing) is involved, I won't be watching, in any case.  Sports and athletes are not my thing.  Also, I turned off my TV permanently a few months ago in disgust at ads, too many reality shows and sports shows, and reichwingnuts on political shows.  Infotainment is not my thing.  On Hulu I watch Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert and during fall, winter, and spring, fewer than six shows per week (one, sometimes two, shows otherwise in the summer).  Hulu ad times are shorter and I can watch them when it's convenient for me, so I don't have to time my life around a TV show or setting a recording device.

I'm sick of attempts to steer this nation from principles evolved in The Age of Reason to hallucinations derived from illiterate herdsmen. ~ Crashing Vor
