  •  Steve Young has always struck me (9+ / 0-)

as a quality individual -- glad that he and his family are on the right side of history. (Got to think that living in the Bay Area and his association with the 49ers hasn't hurt.)

Mr. Scribe's colonoscopy went reasonably well; they found 4 polyps and his head, so sent the former off for biopsy, with results back in a week to 10 days. He's also lost 2 pounds since his physical, and I'm down a jeans size, so we must be doing something right. Was hoping to grocery shop tonight but looks like I'll have to wait again; he's been off doing Mom stuff most of the day.

Tomorrow we're helping a local online friend (met on Twitter as part of a group of Olbermann fans) move some furniture around her apartment; her husband had a stroke a couple of weeks ago and she wants to make access a bit better when he comes home from the rehab hospital. Would have rather met in meatspace under better circumstances, but when a friend needs help I try to be there. And if anyone knows how in the hell to get the Restore Honor to Service Members Act passed, short of catching the majority of GOP House members in bed with a live boy or a dead girl, I'd be interested.

Off to try on a few more pairs of jeans to see how close I am to fitting into them. Ta for now...

    •  That's good! (8+ / 0-)

You're such a generous and giving person, I hope you also get. Okay, that's phrased badly, but I've had sort of a long day, and I'm sure you know what I mean!

      •  What I'm hoping to get (7+ / 0-)

is an actual local friend -- I haven't had a local close female friend in my age group since my friend Sharon moved to Oregon in the mid-1990s, and died not long after of an epileptic seizure. (No insurance, of course...one reason why health reform is pretty important to me.) Would be nice to have someone to hang out with -- and we do share a few other interests such as yarn crafts (she knits, I crochet) and we're both major SF/Fantasy fans (I let her and her husband know about the Lord of the Rings marathon when it came to local theaters last December).
