      Why do we assume the NSA was innocent on that one?  We never have any evidence that they're telling us the truth on anything.   We know they don't mind lying to Congress.  If I'm supposed to base my judgments on facts, then they can start presenting some facts.

        manipulated "security warning levels" for political ends. Their own officials said so (later).

        Once something like that is done, it becomes a "back of mind exercise" every time a big security warning is issued. It's like the boy who called wolf.  "Is it real this time? Or a fake-out like before?"  

        Do we really need duct tape and plastic sheets, plus plastic tubs of extra non-perishable food and water? Lots of people out there with duct tape and plastic sheets, plus maybe some old food....
