  •  Gore applied reason (7+ / 0-)

on matters of war and peace.

Your calling him a 'warmonger' tells us exactly one thing. That you must have been a Nader voter. If so, then you are responsible for Bush's presidency and its consequences.

    •  Yeah, I must have been (0+ / 0-)

But you know what, I wasn't.

And he was utterly irrelevant in any event.

He got 70,000 votes in Florida while 200,000 Democrats voted for George W Bush - why are * they * never blamed?

Probably because people like you find it just a tad embarrassing the Mr. Gore couldn't hold the base . . .

      •  Please ... (7+ / 0-)

The 200,000 "Democrats" to which you refer were undoubtedly Dixiecrats who weren't going to vote for any Democrat unless he came out in favor of segregation of schools and public accommodations.  The 70,000 Nader voters in Florida were, in my opinion, and with all due respect, idiots who couldn't or wouldn't recognize that Gore would have been a little bit better, and maybe way better, than GWB.  BUT while we're venting, let's focus on the real cause of this mess -- the 7,000 Nader voters in New Hampshire who could have saved us all from ever hearing about Florida, Florida, Florida.

        •  Correction -- it was 22,000 Nader voters in NH (5+ / 0-)

7,000 was Bush's margin.  It pains me to recall how close it was.

        •  Gore was responsible for turning people towards (0+ / 0-)

          Nader.

Likely had Nader not been on the ballot, a lot of those people might not have voted. Had Gore run a more liberal, populist campaign, it could be argued all of those Nader voters and many more people would have voted for him.

His whole campaign was a mess and totally ineffectual. Gore simply lost.
