    people whose votes matter.     If 538 Nader voters out of their 97,488 had been convinced to vote for Gore, Gore would have won.  But the Nader voters certainly made their point, didn't they?  And, yes, I think he is to blame.

      even 1% more of those 45% of eligible voters who didn't vote to join the process on behalf of the Democratic Party?

      Roughly five million people don't matter?

      Obviously only those who voted had an impact on the election. But to absolve five million people of any venom whatsoever while turning your ire on people who chose to vote differently than you in representative democracy?

      Ah, well. I guess continuing to be upset about people exercising their constitutional rights as they saw fit more than a decade ago is so much easier than asking why the Democratic Party failed to capture even 1% more of the eligible voters.
