    short term climate models depict exactly that; a cooler, wetter paradigm (which is my observation in 4 of the last 5 years) as the jet stream wanders the continent looking for a new equilibrium.
    this is already having significant effects where I live. Winter snows come much later (bad news for the ski biz), springs are becoming interminably long, wet, damp affairs, summer is a parade of heat waves, drenching rains, and temperature swings from 40-90F in 24 hr periods. Fall is the least affected so far, in my corner of the world. It just lasts until early December instead of early November.
