I did that one year -- grew giant sunflowers.  I have rogue squirrels. They bided their time.  I got to see the flowers themselves, in bloom, for one day. That night, or early in the morning, they climbed up those stalks and ate them.  I came out the next day and they were just gone!  Grew them from seeds, tended them for months and those damned squirrels ate them as soon as they were prime.  LOL.  I'd have to build a cage or a fort around them if I wanted to try that again!

Reminds me that they have been pretty quiet lately and not inviting themselves into the house when i've got the door open as they have done before.  I'm sure they'll be manic again in the fall when the acorns drop.

bother the sunflowers.  But I also have neighbors who set out peanuts in the shell for them, and there are lots of walnut trees.  They have plenty to keep them busy.

I also have a crossman pump action pellet gun, and I'm not afraid to use it if I see something in the garden that I don't find copecetic.

Through early morning fog I see visions of the things to be the pains that are withheld for me I realize and I can see...
