  •  Others do not see it has a moral issue, that's the (0+ / 0-)

...point. If they did, then we would be much farther along and climate deniers would not be an issue.

But as long as advocates and activists continue to embrace their indignation and self righteousness instead of embracing a message that resonates and galvanizes those that aren't already engaged, we will lose the planet.

Some of us understand that we are not winning and have to intention of just holding up a mirror and admiring ourselves as the planet dies.

We need a better strategy and we best start with being honest about the pros and cons of every energy source. Too many diaries here like to write about only the pro's and best case scenarios as well as the theoretical as reality. This is great for those of us who are like minded on the issue, but the other side understands the con's and will pick us apart as they have done already with minimal effort.

So when someone, anyone, challenges baseload or any other aspect of solar or renewable, we have to be able to explain in nonjudgmental, plain English, our counterargument. And so far, I haven't seen that. I've seen mention of this white paper or that one as if they represented a proof-positive consensus. This kind of response will not work with the general public who, in this country, doesn't give a damn about what Germany may or may not be doing right.

The politicians may be bought, and the system corrupt, but it is our duty to fix these things.
