    However, although we might use the Whyte notation, it is rare that we use the names associated with it - exceptions being, Pacific, Single, Atlantic and a few others. Our 4-6-0s are never called Ten-Wheeler's for example.

    Oh, and it is quite normal to refer to the 'smoke stack (a term we ONLY associate with American locomotives) as the chimney....wait 'til you see a 'double blast chimney' in action  :)

    I think I should organise a KosRail outing to the National Railway Museum - Barrow Hill Roundhouse, Chesterfield (with Cousin Peter as guide) - Midland Railway Museum & Golden Valley Light Railway - Great Central Railway, Quorn - Nene Valley Railway - Peak Railway, Matlock - and the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway

    You understand that FOUR of these are in the same county? Derbyshire, of course! :)

    That's a 7 day vacation, right there!
